The City of Brighton, Colorado, has celebrated the graduation of its inaugural Brighton Civic Academy class. Over the course of seven weeks, participants learned about various aspects of city operations, including governance, budgeting, public safety, public works, utilities, development, and parks and recreation.

The graduates engaged in discussions with city leaders and asked questions to deepen their understanding of local government, equipping them with knowledge to positively impact their community.

The graduates of the academy are: Rachel Munoz Florido, Jessie Williams, Eric Rocilez, Crystal Martel, Maria De Jesus Hurtado, Diane Haigh, Stephen Parker, Alicia Hinds, Gahlen Bell, Kathryn LeDonne, Greg Mueller, Power Em, Carla Kaplan-Gomez, Gabriela Tamburino, Jim Snyder, Lisa Snyder, and Karla Lara.

In addition, the city plans to open applications for the 2025 Brighton Civic Academy this spring for those interested in participating in the program.
