Geneva Traffic Surges Due to Half Marathon Event

Geneva residents are advised to expect increased traffic on several streets this Sunday, August 10th, during the Geneva Half Marathon & Relay. The event, presented by YellowJacket Racing and Fleet Feet, will begin at 7:30 AM and continue until around 11:00 AM. The race starts and ends at the NYS Finger Lakes Welcome Center.

Athletes will be running a 13.1-mile route. The relay exchange will take place on Slate Rock Road between Snell Road and Billsboro Road, near Wilson Creek.

The streets affected by the race include Solar Drive, Elizabeth Blackwell Street, Scott Lafaro Drive, South Main Street, St. Clair Street, White Springs Drive, Barracks Road, Pre Emption Road, Billsboro Road, Slate Rock Road, Snell Road, Slosson Lane, Jay Street, and Kings Lane.

Residents are encouraged to exercise caution due to the presence of runners. They are also invited to participate by cheering, hosting water stops, or setting up sprinklers for the athletes’ cooling off.
