Community Support Provides Home for Tracy, Missing Dog
In May 2024, the City of Greeley Homeless Outreach Team began working with Tracy, a client known for her expressiveness and determination. Tracy recently moved into a fully furnished apartment at StarRise Apartments with supportive services provided by North Range Behavioral Health. Although she was not selected in the first round of referrals for housing, community referrals and a strong support network helped her secure a home.
The effort involved several community groups. The CORE Team from the Greeley Police Department developed trust through consistent outreach. SQUAD 1 from the Greeley Fire Department provided immediate assistance by addressing medical issues. Meanwhile, the Homeless Outreach Team assisted Tracy with obtaining documents, managing appointments, and meeting other basic needs.
Tracy is now living in her new home, which she has decorated for the holiday season. She is currently searching for her white Chihuahua, Jude, who has recently gone missing. Anyone who sees Jude is asked to contact the Weld County Humane Society.
