Southeast Elementary in Brighton, Colorado, welcomes Principal Marcus Mares as its new Spartan leader. Mares is a Denver native and a University of Colorado Boulder graduate with more than 12 years in education. Prior to joining Southeast Elementary, he served as an assistant principal at Quist Middle School.

In his new role, Mares emphasizes the importance of being present and visible. “I want to connect with students, staff and parents every day and make sure every decision we make is the best for our students,” he said. Reflecting on his first impressions of the school, he noted that the staff displays strong belief and support for every student, stating, “Magic truly does happen here.”

The school community extends a warm welcome to Principal Marcus Mares as he begins his new journey at Southeast Elementary.
