Greece Police offer Deaf Driver Communication Card

The Greece Police Department said it has introduced a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Driver Communication Card to help drivers communicate during traffic stops.

According to the department, the card is designed to let deaf and hard-of-hearing drivers indicate their preferred method of communication and provide details that may help make interactions clearer and more effective. The card also includes visual icons meant to support common requests during a traffic stop.

The department said the reverse side of the card includes reminders and guidance for what drivers should do when pulled over. It added that the goal is to promote communication and support a positive experience for both drivers and officers.

The Greece Police Department said the cards are available free of charge and can be picked up at the front desk of Greece Police Department Headquarters during normal business hours.

The department also noted that its Administrative Office will be closed the next day in observance of Juneteenth.
