Buffalo Faces Showers, Thunderstorms Through Saturday
The National Weather Service in Buffalo, NY, has issued a forecast indicating that showers with some thunderstorms will increase this afternoon and continue through Saturday morning. The rainfall is expected to be light to moderate overall, with most areas receiving between 0.25 and 0.5 inches of rain. Some areas could see between 0.5 and 1 inch, while a few locations, including Lowville and Highmarket, may receive 1 inch of or more.
Areas such as Lockport, Albion, Batavia, Buffalo, Warsaw, Dunkirk, Springville, and Jamestown are expected to receive 0.25 to 0.5 inches of rain. Rochester, Sodus, Geneva, Danville, Wellsville, Olean, Woodsport, and Pulaski are looking at rainfall totals between 0.5 and 1 inch.
Residents in Lowville and Highmarket should be prepared for the possibility of receiving more than 1 inch of rain. This forecast is valid from 7 AM today through 2 PM Saturday. For more detailed information, visit weather.gov/buf.
