Wake County SHARE Program Expands to 10 More Schools

Wake County Public Schools said its SHARE (Stop Hunger and Restore Earth) Program by Towards Zero Waste is expanding to 10 more schools, supported by continued grants and donors.

The program allows students to leave or take approved, unopened food items during breakfast and lunch. The items are stocked in a central pantry cart and fridge that are accessible all day.

Once the additional schools launch their programs, SHARE will operate in 47 schools. The 10 schools joining the program during the 2026-27 school year are:

• Willow Springs Elementary
• Oak Grove Elementary
• Apex High
• Aversboro Elementary
• Bryan Road Elementary
• Forestville Road Elementary
• Oberlin Magnet Middle
• Lake Myra Elementary
• Enloe Magnet High
• Conn Magnet Elementary
