Wake County cheers Stanley Cup parade turnout

Wake County Government’s Facebook post described a rally in downtown Raleigh tied to the Carolina Hurricanes and the team’s “Canes in six” message. The post said sirens sounded and that “red and black” flooded downtown as supporters gathered.

The post said Wake County was “cheering” and that streets were “on display.” It also noted that David Ellis “donned a cape for the day.”

In the post, Wake County asked, “What brings 100,000 out today?” using hashtags including #StanleyCupParade, #CanesCounty, and #TakeWarning.
