**Brighton Police Investigate Fatal Auto-Pedestrian Crash**
Brighton, CO – The Brighton Police Department's Traffic Safety Unit (TSU) is currently looking into a fatal auto-pedestrian crash that took place on October 8 at approximately 5 a.m.
Police received a report of a pedestrian being struck on the frontage road located on the west side of Interstate 76, specifically between Bromley Lane and Bridge Street. Responding officers discovered an adult male in the roadway with serious injuries.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the man was walking at the time he was hit by a Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 38-year-old male. The driver remained at the scene, called the police, and exhibited no signs of impairment. He was not injured and was cooperative with the investigation.
The identity of the pedestrian is being withheld until the coroner's office can confirm identification and notify next of kin. Authorities are asking anyone with further information regarding the incident to contact the Brighton Police Department tip line at 303-655-8740.
The TSU also offers safety reminders for pedestrians. They advise wearing light or reflective clothing, walking away from traffic when sidewalks are not available, using well-lit areas, and avoiding the use of drugs or alcohol while walking, as these substances can impair judgment and abilities.
