Geneva, NY – The City of Geneva’s Buildings, Parks and Recreations Departments have announced that the Richards Park playground equipment will be removed. A recent Certified Playground Inspection found the equipment unsafe and recommended its removal, in accordance with the National Playground Standards. Richards Playground, the oldest playground in the city, has experienced years of wear, vandalism, and has exceeded its useful life. The Department of Public Works will consider new options for the space in the upcoming budget year.
