Two Teen Opportunity Fairs in Chicago
Chicago — The Chicago Park District announced two Teen Opportunity Fairs in the city for March. The events are free to attend and will provide information about summer opportunities for teens, including special programs and resources for ages 13-15 and summer jobs, park programs and local resources for ages 16 and older. Saturday, March 7, 2026, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Deaf & Hard of Hearing Fair at Park No. 596, 4830 S. Western Ave., Brighton Park.
Saturday, March 14, 2026, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Teen Opportunity Fair at Kennedy-King College, 6301 S. Halsted St., U Building.
Teens aged 13-15 can learn more about special programs and resources just for you. Summer jobs, park programs and local resources are listed for ages 16 and older.

Brighton crews extinguish two fires overnight
Brighton Fire Rescue responded to a lightning-caused grass fire and a later dumpster fire at the Riverwalk Apartments. Crews extinguished both fires and crews were on scene to review security camera footage for the second incident.

Brighton police say this week included a burglary in progress, a felony menacing arrest, a trespassing incident, and a shoplifting case. Officers also charged a dog owner after reviewing video and took the dog to Riverdale Animal Shelter.
