Apex Police Announces Annual Community Police Academy
Apex Police announced that it is accepting applications for its annual Community Police Academy.
The department said the program is for people interested in learning more about the department and the law enforcement profession. Apex Police also said interested applicants can apply if they want to join its Citizens Assisting Police in Apex volunteer group.
People interested in applying were instructed to email CPO@apexnc.org for an application.
Apex Police said the application deadline for the returned application is Friday August 7 at 5 p.m.

Smithsonian traces origins of jíbaro güiro music
The Smithsonian says jíbaro music grew in Puerto Rico’s mountainous countryside, using a hollow-gourd guiro scraped to produce a shushing or rasping sound. Curated guiros tied to the tradition were collected in 1899 and 1956 in Caguas and Rio Piedras.

Natural History Museum Closes Madison Drive Entrance

Apex police blood drive to boost July rewards
