Bridge Street Widening Project Sees Traffic Changes

**Bridge Street Widening Project Update**
The City of Brighton, Colorado, has provided an update on the Bridge Street widening project as of November 8, 2024.
Work hours for the project are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Drivers traveling westbound on Bridge Street can now turn left onto 27th Avenue.
However, permanent traffic realignments will remain in effect on Bridge Street between 22nd and 42nd Avenue. Crews are actively working within the median, primarily on the north side of the roadway east of Telluride Street. Although one lane of through-traffic will be maintained in each direction, motorists should anticipate ongoing changes in traffic patterns as they navigate the construction zone. Designated turn areas will be available for business access, but there may be temporary restrictions throughout the project's duration. At least one entry point will be accessible for all businesses and residents along Bridge Street.
Additionally, Village Hill Drive and Firehouse Road have been altered to a permanent right-in, right-out only turn configuration, a change aimed at reducing traffic and improving safety in turning areas that are prone to accidents.
The west access point to the 27J HR building is currently closed. Visitors are advised to use the eastern driveway off of Bridge Street for access to the facility.
Temporary localized closures may occur in the project corridor for utility operations. Speed limits have been reduced within the construction zone, and increased traffic enforcement will monitor the area to ensure safety for both the project team and the public.
Drivers should expect trucks and heavy equipment entering and exiting the roadway. Caution is advised, and motorists are urged to slow down and maintain safe distances from other vehicles when traveling through construction areas.
Please note that all schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions and material availability.
