**Greeley Police Arrest 21-Year-Old for Attempted Murder After Shooting Incident**

GREELEY, Colo. – A 21-year-old man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder following a shooting incident that occurred in the early hours of September 30.

At approximately 12:11 AM, Greeley Police Officers were patrolling an area near 36th Avenue and 10th Street, where around 60 people were gathered for a car meet. During this time, a vehicle passing by fired several shots at the group before fleeing the scene.

Officers quickly pursued the suspect vehicle while requesting additional police units to assess potential injuries among bystanders. A marked patrol vehicle attempted to stop the suspect vehicle at 17th Avenue and the Highway 34 Bypass, but the vehicle fled southbound.

Officers deployed spike strips at Highway 34, successfully flattening the suspect vehicle's tires. The pursuit continued until the suspect lost control and crashed into a power pole at Highway 85 and 42nd Street. The occupants of the vehicle were detained without incident and identified as Alberto Corona, the driver, and passenger Kimberly Barron.

Corona was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries from the crash, then medically cleared to be booked into Weld County Jail. He faces multiple charges, including:

- Attempted First Degree Murder

- Vehicular Eluding

- Driving While Revoked

- Possession of a Weapon as a Previous Offender

- Driving an Unregistered Vehicle

- Displaying a Fictitious License Plate

Fortunately, police confirmed that no one at the gathering was hit by the gunfire. As of now, Kimberly Barron has not been charged with any offenses related to this incident.
