Brighton Celebrates GIS Day with Public Event

Brighton City Council approved a proclamation recognizing November 20 as GIS Day. In celebration of this event, the City of Brighton's Geographic Information System (GIS) team is hosting an event today from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at City Hall, located at 500 S. 4th Ave.
GIS Day is an international event dedicated to celebrating Geographic Information Systems technology. Today's activities are open to the public and city employees. The event will include presentations on "What Is GIS?", a small map gallery showcasing the team's maps, cookies, and giveaways of GIS Day pins.
