**Community Mourns the Loss of Kristen Hayes, Frederick-Firestone Fire District Community Risk Reduction Specialist**

Frederick, Colorado - The Frederick-Firestone Fire District (FFFD) has announced the passing of Community Risk Reduction Specialist Kristen Hayes on Thursday, February 27, 2025. Hayes, who joined the FFFD in early 2023, was a significant contributor to the district’s educational outreach and community safety programs.

Kristen Hayes began her career in emergency services in 2009 as a 9-1-1 Dispatcher for Adams County Communications (ADCOM). In 2018, she transitioned to the South Adams County Fire Department, where she worked as a Fire Prevention Specialist and Life Safety Educator. Her dedication to public safety continued when she became the Community Risk Reduction Specialist for the FFFD in 2023. In this role, she was instrumental in leading community classes and organizing outreach initiatives to improve safety and awareness in the local community.

Her passing has deeply affected her colleagues, community members, and her family. The Greeley Fire Department has also expressed their condolences, extending their sympathies to Hayes’ family and the FFFD team.
